Q4 - Who would be the audience for your media product?

Yasmin is from a younger audience group and has informed us about her views and opinions about the newscast. She used 'Whatsapp' which is an instant messaging app that can be used on smartphones. Yasmin said that by listening to the newscast, she is now aware and well informed about local news she may have not known before hand. This suggests that she may listen to radio news more often in order to gain an interest in news.

Sami is from an older audience group and has expressed his opinion on a smartphone app called 'Message Me'. He told us that listening to the radio news cast has given him the information to be aware of. This is because one of the news story was about a mobile phone raid which took place in Whitechapel. Even though this is Sami's local area, he was not aware of the event. However, by listening to the newscast, it enabled him to be informed about important occurrences involving crime within his local area.

From our audience research, the majority of people said they listen to the radio during the afternoon. This is because as a target audience are teenagers, they may be busy in the morning as they have school.

We asked our target audience how often they listen to the radio and most of them said everyday. Therefore, we have decided to broadcast news which keeps them up to date about current affairs by broadcasting news that happen in their local area in order to be aware of what is happening.
